Rooftop Film Festival 2024.
The funds raised by this film and The Forgotten Ones assisted Cassandra, a single mother of three children. Cassandra secured MDHA housing at the end of 2023 after experiencing homelessness with her children. Many households temporarily lost access to their SNAP benefits or were not recertified at the end of 2023. The state is working to get all of those cases reactivated. Cassandra’s household lost SNAP benefits for the months of December and January. She also was unable to go to work during the January 2024 snow storm. Rooftop was able to cover the rent and late fees for January and February, stabilizing Cassandra’s home.
