Here are some additional resources and programs that are currently available in Davidson County. You can also dial 211 or visit the United Way of Greater Nashville's website for up to date information about resources in your area.
Diapers:
Diaper Connection - They have a website that has a list of distribution partners that provide diapers.
If a child is covered by TennCare or CoverKids and is under the age of 2, they can receive up to 100 diapers a month at no cost. They are available at participating pharmacies. You don't need a prescription to get the diapers, but you should call the pharmacy to make sure they are in stock.
Healthcare:
Family and Children’s Services- Lead agency for Get Covered Tennessee, the coalition that provides Affordable Care Act (ACA/Obamacare) outreach, education and enrollment assistance across the state. For those seeking assistance with enrolling for Tenncare, Marketplace, or other low-cost options call (866) 475-7879.
Centerstone - Provides a full range of mental health services. They can accept the uninsured for some of their services, but some only accept TennCare (Medicaid). To make an initial appointment to see one of their therapists, counselors, or psychiatrists, call 1-877-467-3123.
Mental Health Cooperative - Provides a wide range of mental health services. They accept TennCare and have a safety net program for the uninsured (this program has income requirements). Their intake line is (615) 743-1555.
Behavioral Health Safety Net - Provides essential outpatient mental health services through a network of providers to Tennessee residents who lack health insurance coverage. If you are 3 years of age or older, have a qualifying mental health diagnosis, and have no behavioral health insurance, you may qualify for this program.
Legal Representation:
Eviction Right to Counsel (ERTC) - The Legal Aid Society and Nashville Hispanic Bar Associationrun the ERTC program. It provides free legal services and education to people facing eviction in Nashville. In order to qualify you must live in Davidson County and have an income at or below 400% of the Federal Poverty Level. Eligible tenants may be served regardless of citizenship status. The program prioritizes preventing public and subsidized housing evictions, addressing Fair Housing Act violations, and responding to illegal lockouts and utility shutoffs. Coordinated Entry - Coordinated Entry is a system-wide approach that assesses all persons experiencing a housing crisis to help identify, prioritize, and connect them with the appropriate housing and support service resources.

Nashville Conflict Resolution Center (NCRC) - NCRC provides free mediation for people involved in cases that are or will be in a General Sessions Civil Court. Mediation offers the participants control over the outcome, and it usually meets the needs of both sides without requiring a public hearing before a judge. They provide mediation for cases that are already in the court system, as well as for people considering a court process, and can provide free mediation for landlord-tenant issues at the request of property managers. They also have resources available in court Monday through Thursday.
Tennessee Immigrant & Refugee Rights Coalition (TIRCC) - TIRCC provides citizenship assistance, which includes comprehensive citizenship classes and legal counsel/representation to immigrants who are eligible to apply for their US citizenship. Immigrant and refugee community members can call their resource line with specific questions or concerns on everything from enrolling their children in school, resolving housing or employment issues, enrolling in public supports such as WIC and SNAP, to obtaining assistance with naturalization. It is staffed by fluent Spanish and English speakers with access to interpretation through a language line. Their resource line number is (615) 414-1030.
Finances:
Financial Empowerment Center - Provides free and confidential one-on-one financial counseling to residents of Davidson county. Counseling is available in English and Spanish with access to language and translation services in most languages. To schedule an appointment, call (615) 748-3620.
Metro Social Services - Provides a range of services to assist Davidson County residents including information and referral, counseling, case management, life management skills, nutrition, and burial. For the Customer Service Line call (615) 862-6432.
Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) - VITA is a free tax preparation program for low-to-moderate income taxpayers through the United Way.
RESET Program (Raising Economic Security to Enjoy Thriving) - RESET is a collaborative network connecting Nashville residents ages 50+ to free, personalized assistance to improve financial security. This program scans for possible benefits (Medicaid/Medicare, SNAP) and they can send referrals to other agencies that can help you apply for these benefits.
