Need Help with Rent or Mortgage?
Mortgage - Check with your bank or mortgage lender. Most banks or lenders are allowing federal employees to defer or pause your payments until the government has reopened and you receive back pay. Do you want help asking for a deferment? Reach out to Good Neighbor Foundation
Rent - Check with your landlord. Let the landlord know you are a federal employee. Many have worked out payment plans. Nashville Conflict Resolution Center is a partner nonprofit providing professional mediation services. If you would like a letter to send to your landlord asking them to consider mediation, please email info@rooftopnashville.org with that request.
If the shutdown continues, Rooftop may have funding to address late fees and support residents who cannot secure alternate ways of paying for housing. You can apply with Rooftop under the Get Help tab.
